What Is Ultrasound?
Ultrasound is a device that uses high-frequency waves to see what’s happening inside the body. 2D ultrasound shows the baby, internal organs, blood moving through the body, and more. 3D and 4D ultrasound uses these waves to see a solid image of the baby. 3D ultrasound uses technology to show a 3-dimensional image of your baby’s face, while the 4D ultrasound can show your baby’s movement.
Is Ultrasound Safe?
Ultrasound is a technology that does not use ionizing radiation like X-rays. It is generally considered safe to use. This technology is used daily in hospitals and doctor’s offices to see babies as they develop.
Will 3D Ultrasound Show My Baby’s Face?
3D ultrasound can show your baby’s face, but it also depends on your baby’s position. If your baby is positioned facing into the back or maternal tissue is getting in the way, we’ll do our best to coax your baby into another position.
How Is the Ultrasound Conducted?
During the ultrasound, a transducer is placed directly on the baby bump. A thin amount of gel is placed on the bump to transmit the ultrasound waves from the transducer through the gel and into the body.
